Hosts and cooks don't speak English. Rice in my burrito was either stale or not cooked enough. I complained when asked how my meal was. Everyone just looked at each other in confusion. I threw my meal away and walked out. Not worth the headache. Don't waste your time here

I was in Miami for 5 day vacation and came to this place twice. All of the various tacos I had were great! I really enjoyed the Crispy Pescado that had pineapple on it. The Guaco was my second fav. So much yummy guac and veggies. It is an inexpensive spot in Miami beach where it seems like most meals cost a small fortune. Everyone that I was vacationing with also loved this place. The only thing that could improve was their seating. It's kind of small and only outside. I eat at Huahua's at least weekly, and I am a huge fan. If you want to go with Mexican-esque food, your best options on the beach are: a) Taquiza's on Collins for tacos; b) Bodega on 16th for tortas; c) Huahua's on Lincoln for meat burritos; d) MyCeviche on Washington in SoFi for seafood burritos [the octopus burrito is the best thing I've eaten from a takeout place in SoBe]. Huahua's holds a special place in my heart for not once getting my name right. I have been 20+ times and had them call me: Pesten; Bracten; Poston; Bresten; Justice; Cristian. It's a treat to try to guess what they'll call me next! I go to Huahua's for one thing and one thing only: the carnitas burrito. In a world of many food options, you can look to other places to do tacos, tortas, salad, and seafood better. The carnitas burrito is the best thing on the menu. Don't get the tacos. Come on, man! Go to Taquiza. What I like so much about Huahua's burritos is that they press them on the grill, which brings them to a level Chipotle fans could only dream of. Also, in the carnitas burrito they use cabbage which is totally unexpected and awesome. Also, the hot sauces are on point. The jalabanero is my favorite, along with the Huahua's original. Service is fine, except for the fact that they can't get my name right (PRO TIP: look at my credit card. It's listed there). Usually I'm going off-hours and things are quick.

The tacos are ok but outrageously pricey for what you get. That would be the case even if they had table service, but the place is really a takeout joint with outside tables that are often not wiped clean. They have beer for $5-$6 a bottle, but cannot make micheladas. Their fixin's counter is always a mess and they have trimmed their fixin options to only 2 kinds of their own sauces. No Salsa, Tabasco, Tapatio or Cholula. The only thing that keeps them in business is the location which is good for people watching (hence the 2 stars).

Had my eye on this restaurant for quite sometime and was finally able to give it a try last week. It's located close to Lincoln road, tables are outside...nice and laidback atmosphere. I tried the mushrooms and fried fish tacos and both were really good, a Lil bit on the spicy side...but nothing I couldn't handle, and of course I took advantage of the yelp offer which is a free queso blanco and chips..which was really good as well...the chips were crisp and the queso blanco dip was rich and quite tasty. Service was fast and friendly.

Love this place! I'm Mexican and I have to say that they are not real Mexican tacos...but they are the best tacos I've ever tried in Miami. You must try the fried chicken tacos, the elote, the mac and queso, the shrimp salad, and the nachos!!! Oh, and for dessert the arroz con leche paleta is delicious!!!

We were in Miami for the South Beach Food & Wine Festival and stopped by Huahua's on the recommendation of a friend who lives in town. The strawberry margarita was 5 stars and I typically don't care for margs. It wasn't overly sweet and it was deceivingly alcoholic. I also ordered the grilled steak and grilled mahi tacos on corn tortillas which were both great. The jalapeÃ±os on the grilled steak were spicy - just how I like them - but I could see how some people may think they are too intense. My only complaint with the experience is we placed our order then we're waiting outside for at least 20-25 minutes before the arrive at our table. But we somehow ended up with an extra carnitas taco after we asked one of the staff members about our order so they may have sent it as an apology for the wait.

Can I say small & disorganized oh & dirty. I'm so sad I brought my boyfriend for fish tacos here. I thought I was taking his out for a treat boy was I was wrong. The selection is pretty wide but very odd toppings in each & when we asked the lady to take out toppings she didn't understand until I told here 5 times :(. The chicken tacos are yummy but the sauce is very spice. They can automatically included a cup of water with each other since spice tacos are there thing. You can be told what you want to make the section process simpler. There are nearly any tables to seat at so please don't expect a table to be available. This peace has potentially but it needs a lot of love & revamping.

Someone cure me of my Huahua's addiction. Speedy service and delicious tacos - seriously, the waiters and waitresses are amazingly efficient at managing an influx of orders. My go-to dishes are the breakfast taco (substantial) + the shrimp taco. While some might be put off by the pulsing club music they tend to play on their speakers - well, it's Miami. My friends visiting from out of town even risked missing their outbound flight to get one last taste of Huahua's savory goodness. The store also provides iPhone chargers, which is always greatly appreciated!

I honestly don't even go to huahua's for their tacos. I go there specifically for the elote and the free cheese & chips you get when you check in(AMAZING). Don't get me wrong, their tacos are good. They're just not worth the price. The elote, on the other hand, is the BEST. I've had it several times and it's always on point. The mayo, cilantro, and cheese added on top of the elote is a perfect combination of flavors. The parking as well as the lack of seating are the reasons why huahua's is getting three stars from me. It's impossible to find a place to sit most of the time.

Just amazing! This place left me and my boyfriend in love. I ordered the fried chicken/fish tacos and a elotes and it was just amazing that we went back the second day vacationing in south beach. The service is great the tacos were juicy and cooked amazing. I highly suggest this to EVERYONE and the pricing is not bad at all unlike other fancy places who have decent food plates for so expensive. All I have to say is this was the best Mexican place I tried in my life for tacos and their elotes.

My new favorite Mexican place on south beach! It's different that other Mexican restaurants. The tacos are so different but SO YUMMY!!! the first thing to get is the Elote corn!! Upon visiting Miami Beach, I was told from every local here that the tacos were off the hook, out of this world, and the only reason people move here. All of these statements apply directly to HuaHua's Taqueria. Do you want a taco that is as innovative as it is beautiful? Then this is where you fall in love. The fried chicken taco goes straight to your heart with it's jalapeno cornbreadedness and delicioso specialty sauce. But don't think that's their only big bang item. Every taco on the menu was put together by a mad scientist. Specifically, Giovanni and his team. Oh did I mention the sauces? Don't eat your taco naked, dress it up with some Serrano Limon. Go here twice or thrice or make it your everyday lunch. Try as many menu items as you can and thank Giovanni for his gift to Miami Beach. It's your lunch and you can sing if you want to.

Very sad to be writing this but for the past few months Huahuas has gone from my favorite taco joint to the taco joint that is half-assing it all. The ingredients have decreased in quality, the tacos are much smaller, and out of the 20 different types of original sauces they offered, only 3 are left that have been watered down in sketchy dispensers. With two new taquerias on the beach that have impressed me with their innovative skills and quality (Taquiza and Bodega) these guys at Huahuas have to step it up and go back to basics.

This cute little spot is tucked away on the outskirts of the armpit of the beach AKA Lincoln Rd. Small and hidden, this gem offers some of the best Mexican grub this girl has ever tasted. For reals. Their queso blanco and chips were excellent, the cheese was so creamy and so tasty. The guac was chunky and filled with little zings of jalapeÃ±o deliciousness. The pollo al pastor taco was super tender and the chunks of pineapple were oh so sweet which went so perfectly with the tanginess of the pastor seasoning/sauce. My absolute favorite and the dish I can't stop talking/dreaming/obsessing about is their fried chicken taco - fried. chicken. taco. This magnificent creation is nothing short of genius... a beautifully fried, juicy chicken tender topped with some sort of ranch, cabbage, cilantro and jalapeÃ±o cornbread chunks. To die for. My husband had a burrito which he enjoyed, but I didn't pay much attention since I was having a passionate love affair with my fried chicken taco. Staff is attentive and very friendly. The place is small, they offer some high top bar like seating inside and just a couple of tables outside. It is a definitely worth the long drive and crappy beach parking. We will soon become regulars.

Omg! When I tell you these were the best soft tacos I ever had and i only care for hard tacos! This place is perfecto! I dream about going to Miami just for the corn and tacos! The corn on the cob is seasoned to perfection with the best cheese and it's melted to perfection! I had the fish taco, alpastor and steak taco and a corn on the cob everything was good ass hell!! Specially the fish taco that shit was bomb! The steak was nice and tender the alpastor was good. Of course for my first time I gotta pick stuff that my fellow yelpees recommend!! So after getting out of our movie I already planned what I was going to get: -Free chips & queso for checking in (yee!) -Elote -Fried chicken taco, shrimp taco, Guaco taco. I'm sad. The cashier said they ran out of the Elote AND Guaco taco :'( So instead I got the carnitas taco. Fried chicken & shrimp tacos were so delicious! Carnitas was nothing special, pretty bland I ended up giving half to my bf. He also got the chicken& shrimp which he loved but the steak taco wasn't anything special. I haven't tried many taco places but Huahua's met my taste from the beginning. It's fair in price, tastes fresh and is fast. I recommend the grilled shrimp taco and the fried chicken taco, just delicious. I can't get enough, and although appetite can be nearly infinite, two or three tacos are enough to make you filled and happy. Awesome guys, keep it up, you're doing excellent!!!

First off, this place has a "Los Verdes" and "Los Perros" vibe to it except with mexican food instead of colombian food. Its delicious food, served fast and opened late! Sounds like a winner to me! I ordered the crispy pescado which was a small soft taco with breaded fish, pico de gallo and cabbage... it was so delicious! I squeezed some lime into it and a few drops of the hot sauces they have at hand and I was in 'late night eats' love! I also ordered the half order of the elote which is half a corn on the cob smothered in a certain cheese and spices. I only ordered the half because I had never tried corn made this way, but after i ate the half I got up to order a whole elote this time... it was THAT good! I definitely recommend this spot for a late night eat!

Deep fried avocados on guac on tacos? Wait, what. Vegetarians go for the Guaco because it has no meat, but you should go for it because of the fried avocado over guac over grilled veggie combo. Drizzled with spicy tofu crema - it's like the nutrituous version of heaven. The elote (mexican corn) is out of control. Stop by for a quick, tasty and filling taco lunch. I went the way of the lunch special with two Al Pastor tacos (charred pinapple, onions, cilantro, crema) and half an elote and a soft drink for the price of three tacos.

After an amazing Elite event where this restaurant really catered to us I could not wait to go and try some of their dishes. A friend and I went for a late lunch. From the moment you walk in you are warmly greeted by a very friendly staff. Very small inside with a counter top with a few chairs. No problem sit outside and enjoy our beautiful weather this time of the year. They have quite a few tables outside. The menu is not large at all. We ordered queso dip and chips to start. The queso was very tasty, a bit runny, I prefer a bit thicker but the taste was quite good. The chips were fresh, thin and crispy. I ordered the fried chicken taco and short rib taco. Both my taco's were great. From the drizzles of sauces and ingredients that they combine on their taco's make them unique. This is not your typical fast food Mexican. I found it to be gourmet Mexican. The prices are not cheap but well worth the $3 and change for a great tasting taco. We also ordered the frozen margarita's, not a fan of them. Having said that I do prefer on the rocks and the Margaritas from Haven were awesome, same owners I have been told. When you walk in they have a shelf of many different hot sauces to choose from. Woah, I tried a very hot one #18, it will make you cry....well almost. Great service, cool place with good food for a quick enjoyable meal.

There is a Taco God. And he/she lives in the kitchen at Huahua's. Start with the Elote, a sensual marriage of grilled mexican corn + spicy mayo + cotija cheese + cilantro.. If I could just eat copious amounts of Elote, I would.. But then the Tacos start signing their siren song. Grilled Mahi - best fish taco in Miami Beach. a nice portion of freshly grilled fish + chili lime vinaigrette Guaco - a creative way to showcase fried avocado (!) Chili Rubbed Shrimp - if the Shrimp is the rub, the Jicama is the tug (and crunch) Fried Chicken - JUST SLAP ME IN THE FACE AND BRING ME MORE. NOW. Breakfast - like a warm hug.. my favorite for late Fri/Sat night, or a perfect hangover cure the next afternoon The supporting cast consists of beers-I-drink-when-on-a-beach-vacation, margaritas, plus Jarritos and MexiCoke. This is my go to "I don't know what I want for dinner and don't want to cook" restaurant. All of the tacos are good and the prices are reasonable. I usually get the salad with chicken and grilled veggies. The salad is a blend of romaine, kale, and cabbage so it has a nice consistency and crunch to it. They have a great homemade dressing. For tacos, I would recommend them all but the fried fish and breakfast taco in particular. make sure you check out the sauce bar. They usually have 4 or so homemade sauces with varying flavors and spicyniesses. Good food and you can usually get out of there with 3 tacos and a beer for less than $15. Not bad for south beach, especially on Lincoln.

Decided while in south beach to give this place a go. It's been on my to try list for a long time. The staff were nice, we ordered from the counter. The folks delivering our food were extremely confused, but it was sorted out. We tried some of the tacos and other apps. This place just doesn't deserve the ratings it gets. I found the food to be generally bland and not particularly well done. There is almost no indoor seating, and some outdoor seating. I'm someone who eats a good amount of Mexican I cook myself, and in other cities around the country where they have good Mexican food. Unfortunately in Miami there isn't much to choose from.

I'd been eagerly awaiting Huahua's opening since sampling a delicious fried chicken taco at HaVen a while back, and finally made it over for lunch on a recent weekday. All the taco offerings (and starters and enchiladas) sounded great. Between a friend and I, we ordered the crispy pescado, the chili rubbed shrimp, and the breakfast taco, the elote, and guac and chips. The guac was tasty, but had a bit too much lime for my liking. The elote was great - grilled corn smothered in cotija cheese and spices. As for the tacos, of the 3 we had, the crispy pescado was my favorite. The breakfast taco was good, but could've used a second tortilla to make it easier to eat. Prices are reasonable - you can easily get a filling meal for $10-12 a person. One misstep - they charge $1.50 for a little side of sour cream. A little unreasonable, if you ask me. Definitely looking to checking out more of Huahua's menu, including some frozen drink that I enviously eyed on neighboring patrons' tables.

Picture this: A girl's weekend on Lincoln Road. What a gorgeous November day spent dodging plump jellyfish and tanning our bodacious booties on South Beach. Later in the afternoon towards dusk, we take a stroll down Lincoln rocking our sexy tan lines, popping in and out of the tourist shops (many selling winter clothing surprisingly - WTF). All of this action works up a thirst and hunger that only a margarita and some tacos can satisfy. We make a quick happy hour pit stop at Rosa Mexicano (see review) and take advantage of their epic "Hora Feliz" specials. The house margarita is made with Pepe Lopez and unfortunately that dude ain't no friend of mine. 1800 Silver is always a crowd pleaser. So, I drink about four of these and then head over to Huahua's, or as my friend Kim refers to it, "Who-ha's" (LOL). Huahau's is a well-oiled, street taco making machine. Even though this place sits on Lincoln Road, they have the unpretentious, chill vibe of Wynwood. A few tables are scattered outside - more outside then in. The menu is simple - all the usual stuff, salsa, guac, cheese dip as well as their signature tacos and burritos. By the time we arrive, I am literally starving and quickly order the first few tacos that catch my attention - the Hongos Magicos (portobello, grilled veggie and tofu creme), the Grilled Mahi with radish, cilantro and chili-lime vinaigrette and finally, the fried chicken taco with jalapeno cornbread, cabbage, ancho ranch and cilantro. Each one better than the last with the clear winner being the fried chicken taco. This was just a VIP party in my mouth and the guest list includes Taco - party of 3. I grabbed a few hot sauce samples and doused everything with the spicy fire water. I had to cool off my tongue with some Modelo. I finished inhaling the tacos and belched loudly - a compliment to the chef! Tacos are $3.49-$3.99 depending on what you fancy - beef, chicken, fried fish or veggie. They have something for everyone and the price is right. I see can easily see more of Huahua's in my near future.

Anything less than 5 stars for this place is crazy. It's a small taco place so you will prob end up sitting outside. The ambience isn't anything magical but the food is! The food is UNDER-priced for the quality especially on Lincoln road. You must get: Mahi Mahi Taco Fried Chicken Taco Steak Taco And definitely the Elote (corn w aioli and cheese) It's a nice mix of authentic Mexican with American twists on the menu. All of the tacos seemed to have big pieces of meat so the taco doesn't fall apart all over you when you eat it. They also have a big variety of hot sauces.

Note to self: never order another jalapeÃ±o cornbread ever again. Number one, it is not corn bread, it is something loosely related to corn bread, and number two, it has jalapeÃ±os in it, making the supposedly sweet treat into a fire bomb. I have searched relentlessly for the good balance of jalapeÃ±o and corn bread, but whenever corn bread is touched by the green pepper, there goes the dynamite, boom! the thing is spicy as hell. Thank you Bobby! Huahua's Taquerias' JalapeÃ±o cornbread is no different, except that it is moist and fresh. It is probably the spiciest, hottest one I have ever had. For that I have to say "WTF Huahua?" I came to Huahua's specifically for the jalapeÃ±o cornbread (the tacos were the added bonus), because someone I met at a bar, whose name I still don't know, started screaming "OMG Huahua's jalapeÃ±o cornbread is the bomb" and someone had to stop him, so I told him I'll try it and, ethical being that I am, that is what I did, even though I don't know the dude and will probably never see him, but he left my psyche scarred. And hungry. The taqueria at Huahua is not a real taqueria. Not a traditional one, I would say. They do serve their food in tacos, but still not a taqueria. I would feel more comfortable calling it "the nightmare of a hardcore communist Mexican nationalist pig", subtitled with an anti-American and anti-imperialist anarchist, the one whose worst nightmare is to see his precious autochthonous tacos filled with fried chicken and topped with BBQ sauce while his picture of the Virgen de Guadalupe is replaced with the picture of Pamela Anderson (sorry Kim K., you will never achieve goddess status). But they do have vey amazing Mexican taco inspired food. And, they have a very amazing selection of hot sauces, with some bottles also available for sale, I may add. The most spicy is the Huahua sauce itself. It is a nice healthy level of heat. The "tacos" are also really good and you can't go wrong with any. They do not reflect the humble lifestyle of a Mexican countryman, but they are a good reflection of a twisted modernist capitalist mind, very tasty and very enjoyable. In other words, you must try them tacos. Huahua's also serves taco salads and enchiladas are available. JalapeÃ±o cornbread you said?, well, I dare you.

The person bringing out the food brought us the wrong food on two separate occasions and I observed this happen to other patrons as well. Once we finally got the right order, the food left a little to be desired. The queso was watery and barely stuck to the chips and my carnitas had so many raw onions you could hardly taste the rest. The standout of the meal was the Pescado taco. I wish I would have just got three of these and forgot about the rest. I think there is potential here, but they need to get their operations in order and fine tune some of their recipes.

I have eaten at Huahua's Taqueria several times over the past year and their food can be quite delicious! I have only tried tacos and guacamole with chips. Their food often consists of great flavors with good quality ingredients. Unfortunately, there seems to be a consistency issue. On several occasions I have received items such as the crispy pescado tacos cold. In terms of price, I think the tacos are at a fair amount compared to similar spots. It's a simple fix that could really make this a great place!

I enjoyed Huahua's. I like that they're building a brand with all the knick-knacks and souvenirs for sale, in addition to many other hot sauce brands available for purchase. Very clever. I also like that they're based in Miami and this is the only location thus far. I really like that (in addition to many of their competitors) they have a house made hot sauce bar. Most of them were a bit too vinegary for me, but still I enjoyed tasting them all. 1) Mexcellent (mild) 2) Chipotle Malt (mild) 3) Serrano y Lime (medium) 4) Hot & sticky- honey habaÃ±ero (medium) 5) JalebaÃ±ero- (hot) MY FAVE! 6) Sangre del Diablo (hot) They were out of this last one when we were here, so I'm looking forward to trying it next time. I had the Grilled Mahi taco and Chili Rubbed Shrimp taco. My boyfriend had the Fried Chicken Taco and Carnitas Burrito. All were very tasty and flavorful with a lot of texture contrast. I did find the 'jalapeÃ±o cornbread' croutons on top of the fried chicken taco a bit disappointing. I would rather see the chicken actually tossed and fried in a jalapeÃ±o cornbread batter and maybe topped with more jalapeÃ±os instead of just garnishing with mediocre cornbread croutons. This place is very comparable to LIME Fresh Mexican (probably it's main competitor in MB and also based in Miami). It's a toss up for me though. I think LIME's margaritas are disgusting but I enjoy Limes salsa bar better. I have yet to try Huahua's margaritas and enjoyed their shrimp taco more than LIME's, because it had more flavor. My boyfriend liked the carnitas burrito, but still thinks that LIME's Queso Burrito beats it anyday. So like I said, there are items on each menu that I enjoy. They're both really good and reliable 'fast casual' Mexican spots. So you be the judge. But as of yesterday, I am definitely a fan of this new kid on the block. And I'm excited to go back for dinner to try mas tacos, unas margaritas, el Mac 'n' Queso y roasted corn! Â¡Buen provecho!

This amazing little place really is tucked away from the Lincoln Road that we know.its on the sidewalk across the street from Rosa Mexicano.which by the way you shouldn't bother going to LOL. I love authentic Mexican food and these folks have it.Everything is incredibly fresh and flavorful and the folks that work there provide excellent service.i. got tacos de hongo,an elote and a frozen margarita de fresa ! I find myself just saying oh my gosh after every bite lol. The owner of this place has a beautiful chihuahua named JalapeÃ±a and the logo has her on it! Gotta support any business that loves dogs! Oh and I just found out that they have a deep fried avocado taco so I may end up going back today just to try that!

I have had fish tacos in a few different places and this place was definitely up to par. We've had their Grilled Mahi and Chili Rubbed Shrimp taco, and I would definitely return for those Chili Rubbed Shrimp tacos. Perfectly spiced and cooked, served with mouth watering sauce will have your craving for more. If you do order the Grilled Mahi, try that before you try the Spicy Shrimp. Don't forget to order a side of Guacamole and Chips. If you can, make it to stay, elect for a table on the sidewalk, and enjoy the cool ocean breeze while enjoying some good tacos.

Maybe I don't know how to order, but I came here for tacos (plural, I mean, the menu DOES say "tacoS", not "taco") and ended up getting one measly taco for about $4. I saw some other people that got about 5 tacos in one plate delivered to them, so I am not sure what they ordered, but I was disappointed with the amount of food I got and the price for it. I feel that the cashier could have clarified I was only going to get one taco and confirm this was in fact what I wanted...I was expecting to get 2-4 tacos, after all. The taco was delicious, yes (hence the 3 stars), but I don't feel it's worth the price for one little taco. So, based on that, I am not sure I will be back, plus my friend had the enchilada but was not overly impressed with it. Again, maybe we didn't know what to order, but we're going to give other Mexican places on the beach a try before considering coming back here...$30 for 2 people, considering one only got a single taco, and the salsa and chips appetizer was nothing to write home about just does not justify it for me.

Have been to this taqueria several times and everytime it does not seize to impress. The location is great- on Lincoln Road but away from the tourist madness. Great place! Gourmet mexican food in a fast food kind of place. Same system as a fast food: order at the cashier and fast preparation. But the food is fresh, cooked to order and homemade. The offerings are different and it makes it very interesting. The guacamole and chips is very fresh, big lime taste though but it is good. I had the pulled pork enchilada and it was different but so good. I really liked it. My husband got three tacos and was very satisfied. Can't wait to go back!

Shared Huahua's classic nachos, half an ezote, a fried chicken taco and fried guaco taco. After ordering at the counter we waited about 20 minutes for the food. Thankfully they have fans outside but we managed to get one of their few tables indoors. The fried chicken taco had 1 small piece of chicken, overpriced at 3.99. The fried guaco was definitely unique and had interesting flavors, but not something I'd return back for. The nachos were delicious - especially love their black beans (wish they had a veggie bean taco too) - but the cheese sauce was sitting at the bottom of all the chips which was strange. I had high hopes for the Elote because I LOVE corn on the cob, but was too overdressed for me so you don't taste much of the corn. Loved the latin music playing and the overall freshness of the food, but unfortunately it's overpriced for the amount of food we got and the food wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

Despite billing itself as a taqueria, tacos are not Huahua's strength. Snub the tacos. Eat a burrito. The grilled chicken burrito is killer! I know, grilled chicken sounds healthy (read: boring and tasteless). But, the chicken is pulled, rather than chunks, and blends seamlessly with the cheese and other less magical ingredients. It goes down so smoothly! The tacos are just disappointing, but not awful. The measly little things sure don't justify their $3 price tag. I tried the grilled mahi mahi (too dry) and the veggie (too oily). Neither had spectacular flavor and the oil-saturated shitake mushrooms bust through the tortilla--should have doubled up! Tip: Spruce up the tacos with some of their Huahua's sauces. Located just west of the main drag on Lincoln Road Mall.. ugh, those tourists. ;).. Huahua's is comparatively deserted and offers unbeatable prices. About $9 for a brick of a burrito, when the rest of Miami Beach is trying to rip you as much for a couple of fries. Order at the counter. Grab a seat. A couple of stools inside and a bunch more tables outside. And devour!

I heard tacos and Todd Erickson and knew I needed to get to Huahua's immediately. Overall, I loved the food and it definitely left me wanting more. What didn't? The small space inside (barely any room to stand in line!) inclusive of the lack of seating. The fresh eats and friendly staff made up for it but just have to bear in mind the fact you will be dining al fresco. I loved the homemade and warm chips with guac to start my meal and they came super fast, making my wait for tacos not so shabby. I tried the crispy pescado and fried chicken tacos and loved the fish. With things like queso mac, elote, enchiladas, nachos, short rib tacos, and taco salads also on the menu, I think I'm going to be here several times before I can determine a favorite. I wouldn't be deterred by some of these low-star reviews. This is definitely a great spot that deserves some credit for their delicious Mexican eats! I look forward to returning soon.

Best tacos in Miami Beach. The customer service is great - always friendly people working at Huahua's. The tacos are unique, with a variety of flavors and options. Try the fried chicken taco. I know it sounds weird, but it's awesome. I haven't had a bad taco at Huahua's yet, and I've been there more times than I can count. There isn't a lot of seating, so you have to time your trip before or after the lunch rush. Seating is outdoors, but covered, so it's ok if it's raining, but be prepared to be outside on Lincoln Road. I love it here!

Food is very tasty and the employees seem kind of proud that the joint is popular. I came here twice in the 4 days that I was in Miami Beach. Great quality and value in an,area (lincoln rd) that is usually overpriced poor quality trapping tourists who aren't sure what they are getting into. This place is a great find!! First experience at Huahua's and I ordered takeout. Spent $21 and got the guaco taco, veggie salad, and queso&chips to try a couple of things out. To start I will say the guaco taco was really good. Between the fried avocado & and unique sauce I would definitely order it again. The chips & queso were good but nothing extraordinary. Then I opened up the veggie salad (if you couldn't tell already, I am a vegetarian). See the photo I uploaded to my disappointment. I'm still not 100% sure what the blackened/charred veggies that covered the entire salad were. My guess is the portobello but no where in the description did it say they were blackened. After trying to cut one open I realized they were charred all the way through and not edible. Unless I am missing something, this was an extremely lame salad. After I picked off the entire layer the rest of the salad was so-so as it now all tastes charred. Very disappointing especially being as this salad was $10.79!! I am giving them 2 stars because the staff was very pleasant and the guaco taco was good but overall not a good experience. Lesson to me - thoroughly look at the takeout before I get home..

Huahua's is my favorite place to get elotes. These are the best ones I've had so far. I'm not crazy about their tacos, but the Mac n' queso is delicious. They have a good selection of paletas and those are pretty good too. I like the way they honor the name of the restaurant by being dog friendly. They have dog treats and plates with water outside for dogs. It's a good place to go if you want to get affordable Mexican food in that area.

Lunch or Late Night Huahuas Hits the Spot Lincoln Road can be a mine field on the culinary scene. Pretty girls promising reduced priced meals and drinks during the day and then so few choices late at night, can result in a very expensive lesson. Now, on the West side of Lincoln, Huauhuas is the place that gives you great Mexican food (and drink) without the South Beach sticker shock. My wife and I decided to try Huahua's the other night. We chose a Friday since that tends to be the busiest night and a good night to try out a new restaurant at its most hectic.... Our first choice was the Elote (3.29) this Grilled Mexican sweet corn was by far our favorite choice. Its like having a corn taco "on the cobb" the blend of spice and cheese with butter has that perfect combination of salt without being overwhelming or greasy. Having a late night craving for something salty after a few beers. GET THE ELOTE. After this great start we chose our main courses. Next up was the Cheese and Bean Enchilada and the Pulled Pork Enchilada (6.79). I really enjoyed my Cheese and Bean with red sauce. Not too much cheese and not too huge a portion which was fine by me. The red sauce had just enough spice to be hot, but not overpowering. I will say I worked up a bit of a sweat, but isn't the point of Mexican food to have some spice? My wife's Pulled Pork Enchilada was good, but she mentioned the Lemon Cream Sauce was a bit bland. After tasting it myself we agreed it needed a bit more acidity. The solution was easy, just add more lemon juice and BANG there's the flavor. My suggestion would be that Huahua's add either more lemon juice or cilantro to the sauce to give it that extra "kick". We then both chose the Mahi Mahi tacos (3.29). Small, simple and well flavored with a side of rice and refried beans. I will say the beans are QUITE spicy, but with the fish add a nice touch. They are that perfect "bite" size and makes you wanting more. Well done. Lastly, to satisfy our sweet tooth, we chose the Paletas (3.49) and Cinnamon Sugar Funnel Cake (3.49). The home made Paletas are really good. Basically frozen juice on a stick, but after that salty/spice meal VERY satisfying! My Passion fruit Paletas was very good and flavorful. I'm anxious to try the other flavors like Fruita Mixta, Coco Con Leche and others. The Cinnamon Sugar Funnel Cake was a bit less of a success. Its fried PERFECTLY, but they really overdid it o the Cinnamon. You could literally scoop it out with a spoon. I think in this case "less is more" just sprinkle the Cinnamon on it and maybe some powdered sugar and I think that would be enough. No need to drown it in Sugar. That said, I still ate the whole thing and found it tasty. The only fault I can find with Huahua's itself is that its rather small inside. Theres really only about 4 chairs to sit down inside, but at least there is room outside now that they have their permit. I will say it fills up fast on the weekends so you have to be quick or otherwise use them for takeout or walking around food. If their business keep up like it was Friday night they may have to expand...and quick. Overall, we both really like Huahuas despite a few "growing pains". I didnt get the chance to sample all their dishes, but will DEFINITELY be back for more. They also have wine, beer and margaritas if you want to keep drinking late into the night. So, if you are on the West sign of town and looking for good, cheap eats with REAL flavor, take the walk over to Huahuas. Your stomach and your wallett will thank you.

Had a pretty bad experience here. I came here with 3 other friends to grab a quick bite before hitting the clubs and while my 3 other friends got their tacos (which were really good), the ones I ordered took over 15 minutes. It wasn't until I got up and asked where they were then they magically appeared. When I did finally get them, they were stone cold. I went back to complain and the cook gave me an attitude. It gets better. After I said they were cold, the cook took his glove off and stuck his finger in them and then gave them back to me!!!! I'm down here on vacation and did not want any drama. I left it alone. Will never come back to this place.

I was really looking forward to the opening of Huahua's, I mean who doesn't appreciate a good south beach taco? A friend of mine and I went. We ordered the elote, mac & cheese, crispy pescado, BBQ short rib, fried chicken, and pollo al pastor tacos. The elote was good. The Mac and cheese was AWESOME. Really gooey and cheesy. I was not given a bite of the pescado or short rib taco, but was assured they tasted good. My pastor taco was...mediocre. I really enjoyed the fried chicken taco. What's a little odd is that they used both corn and flour tortillas with no real rhyme or reason it seems. I also noticed the the two things I enjoyed the most...are not Mexican....at all (mac & cheese and friend chicken taco)

Someone told me that this place is the "most authentic Mexican food you will have in Miami." Boy was I a bit disappointed. They have steak tacos, not Carnegie Assad and carnitas tacos. All tacos are on a small flour tortilla. Where are the corn tortillas? Each taco runs about $4, pretty pricey. I ordered the carnitas taco- although it tasted very good, they definitely skimped on the meat because I was able to roll it up like a taquito. The steak was good in size and the meat was soft and chewy. This place is a cross between Mexican and Peruvian style tacos. Good, pricy, but no where near a typical "street taco." To give you another example, they offer fried chicken tacos. If you're looking for adventure, try this place, but if you're looking for authentic Mexican tacos, go to California!

This place knows what's up. It knows its strengths and doesn't try to turn into something it's not. What it is: a simple taqueria with fantastic affordable food and a great location. It is not some fancy sitdown restaurant. And that's exactly what I was looking for when I walked by. This place served on-point mahi mahi street tacos with perfectly done guac and chips. I sat outdoors and was a stone's throw away from the busy fancy shops on Lincoln Road. Honestly the food was better than some sitdown places I've been at so far. If you're looking for a well done street taco in a great location then this is your best bet.

I thought this place was a generally satisfying taco place. The elote was very tasty and nicely seasoned. To be fair though, it's kind of hard to screw that particular item up due to its simplicity. The tacos were definitely above average. I had the short rib one and the mahi one. Both were items I would order again, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the mahi. The service here was friendly and the prices were surprisingly good given the location. Two small criticisms. First, I felt like even though the mahi taco had great flavor, it was a little light on its fish portion. I would pay a little more to get more fish and less filling. The roast corn was overly fussy with pepper, spices and sprinkled cheese everywhere. Obviously they don't have much faith in their corn supplier, 'cause with fresh ears, simpler is better. This place makes what is best described as fusion tacos. They serve flour tortillas which are certainly not authentic for Mexican food, and they're rather large and taste like chewy cardboard. I asked the busboy if they serve corn tortillas and he was a little confused but responded in the affirmative -- I have a suspicion that he just said yes to be polite and walk away. The fillings are ok, nothing to write home about but nothing bad either. I ordered 5 different tacos, including their Al Pastor, they were all decent (save for the flour taste in my mouth). The exception was the Mahi, the fish was burnt (lots of bad-for-you black chunks) and tasted dry. I ordered a Chips & Guacamole, the guac was surprisingly good although I can't say the same for the chips. They also serve Mexican Coke which is great. Service was ok at best, a little slow. We were a party of three, I ordered separately but right after my other two lunchmates. Their food came out pretty quick, mine took an extra 10 minutes even though we all had tacos. They were out of 2 of the 6 sauces they have "on tap". I really wanted to try the Serrano & Lime sauce so I asked if they had more in the kitchen and was dismissed with a "No" by a guy who seemed to be a manager. I pressed him and he said that it's made by someone next door and he's out. The locals don't know any better and think it's good Mexican food. There are better places even on the beach -- at least two places come to mind on Washington Ave alone, one of them being Alma Mexicana (Google/Yelp it). And of course, if you're looking for a more formal setting, right across the road is Rosa Mexicano. I'd give this 2.5 stars if that were an option, but since it's not I'm rounding down since it's not really A-OK in my book. I probably won't stop here again, except maybe for the excellent guac.

I tried Huahua's the first time I came to Miami, and HAD to come back the second time I visited Miami Beach. I made the mistake of ordering the salad (It was good, don't get me wrong) but my sister's boyfriend ordered the tacos and I ended up eating most of his food AND my salad..oops. I love breakfast and I love tacos, so the breakfast taco definitely makes me happy. I am also a big fan of their grilled steak & guaco tacos. I had my eye on the margaritas, but had to pass since it was my first meal of the day. I am from California, so I have definitely had my good share of tacos (good & bad), and would recommend you try this place (it's not authentic but yummy) ! I love that this place put a spin on the normal taco, and added some yummy flavors. This isn't a hole in the wall taco joint, it is a nice location, small but has a good amount of outside seating. I will be back the next time I am in Miami Beach. Also they have vegan friendly options!

Huahua's was disappointing!! the food has its hits and misses. the chicken salad was so so. the grilled fish taco horrible, while the vegetarian and grilled steak tacos were good. they also have a good bean puree. the service was really slow, and the restaurant was not crowded. they must do a big take out business. the inside is very modern and small, with 2 tables. they have several tables outside.. they offer several souses. i liked the sweet and spicy the best. you have to wonder why, they recommend the fried chicken and fried fish tacos as the best of the lot!! well it is located in Sobe!!!

Great taco place. Don't skip the al pastor taco or the elote. The elote is really delicious - cheesy and charred with just slight kick. Carnitas was good too. Not sure I would do the crispy fish again but I liked that one ok too. We got chips and queso for the table - the queso was nothing special but it was passable. I came here with my nieces and the quick service style where you order and they deliver food to your outdoor table worked perfectly for us. All in all great place for some quick delicious tacos and a couple of beers.

We tried this place on the way to a birthday party... It went like this: Walking down the street looking for the location of the night's debauchery we ran into some other invitees and agreed to make a taco run. Unlike most of the restaurants on Lincoln Road, this place offers amazing food for not a ton of money. For $3 a taco instead of pre-drinking you could pre-eat before going to one of the finer establishments that cost your paycheck. After deciding in the mahimahi tacos, I realized I had to use the restroom. Being that this place is small and the meals are cheap I questioned my decision to venture to the restroom, and when I saw it was unisex I thought I might just put it on hold, but I took a look and the restroom was spotless. Completely stocked up with toilet paper, soap, hand towels. I was really impressed. (It always makes me wary at restaurants with unclean bathrooms). So I give this place 5 stars for being squeaky clean. The tacos were really delicious, and we were all happy we went. Party on.

There's a lot of people in South Beach who are indifferent to me, and then there's that group of amazing people who almost become a family away from home. When I step inside Huahuas, I'm literally geeked to catch up with the crew and talk Sobe business, food and just reflect on a bad or good day to someone who cares enough to at least pretend to listen, though I assume it's always genuine. The food? I come from Chicago, huge Mexican population and amazing Mexican food. I'm Puerto Rican and if it came down to choosing one or the other for the remainder of my life (and afterlife), sorry, I love my islands food but Mexican takes the cake. I'm positive I have El Gordos tacos (a Chicago staple) still lining the walls of my intestines from like 1998. Ok, you get it, I love Mexican food. Here, the take isn't exactly authentic. I don't need my H1N1 shot before eating as I do at places back home and there's no little indigenous abuela slaving away in a fly riddled kitchen. But it tackles the concept with an original twist better than the Mexican fares elsewhere on the beach. The cornbread laced in jalapeÃ±os is better than sex, hands down. And all taco variations make me just as moist with the fried chicken and the breakfast versions stealing my heart. I've been here enough (and tip well enough) that I usually always receive a complimentary bowl of guac and chips. My only serious issue is the loaded nachos. After all the add-ons and a drink to cleanse the palate, you're looking at $20 not including tip. Nachos are usually never worth boxing up, and I have yet to finish an entire order, so when I shoot for this option I'm always regretting how $20 could have gotten me homemade nachos for a week. Awesome location, awesome staff, and though not quite legitimately Mexican it's enough to keep me happy until I'm back home in sweet home Chicago for the real deal. Insider tip: best guac in Miami.

Located at the mouth of the Lincoln Rd strip, this taco joint is just pretty much perfect. Prices are good and the menu is an interesting take on traditional Mexican fare. On a recent trip to Miami, I ate here twice. The tacos are stuffed, delicious and priced around $3.50 each. I had the carnitas, the citrus chicken and the steak. All 3 were very good, but I enjoyed the steak the most. The elote cannot be passed up! A flavorful corn on the cob with spicy mayo, seasoning, cilantro and Mexican Cotija cheese. My cousin had a taco salad which looked awesome. She liked it a lot! I didn't care for the club music pumping through the place. It was actually annoying, but the food itself made the experience. Dog and bicycle friendly, with outdoor seating and fans.

If you're looking for no fuss no muss yummy tacos on SoBe then you need to head to this great little place. Ate here last night with my bestie after window shopping on Lincoln Road. The concept is, order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The menus has roughly 10 varieties of tacos which can be ordered individually or 3 of the same kind for $10. The ingredients are fresh and not your typical tacos. I had the grilled steak, mahi mahi, and shrimp tacos. The steak was perfectly seasoned and juicy. The mahi mahi was a generous sized piece of fish. The shrimp had a nice bite due to the jicama. My bestie ordered the mahi mahi, chicken with pineapple, and fried guac. Yes, I said fried guac. The service was friendly and quick. The only thing I would change is the beer selection and the margaritas made from a slurpee-like machine. Other than that, the place is great. You can't beat the price or the taste. Great hidden gem on Lincoln but west of Alton.

HuaHua's is authentic and gourmet mexican. The chef is celebrity chef Todd E. from Haven. The food is thoughtful and seriously well-prepaired. The guacamole is also hands down the best I've had since Chipotle. It's hard to find really good mexican food in South Beach, even though there are so many places that offer it, but this one is Number ONE to me. Delivery Dudes company also will deliver HuaHuas, which is a bonus.

Oh Huahua's, how I wish you had a more northern location because I'm sure it would be our second home. In all seriousness, this place is worth the drive for absolutely delicious dishes. Not to mention the prices are beyond reasonable. I was first introduced to this place due to a recent Yelp event, and while browsing the streets during Basel we stopped in to refuel. Best decision that day hands down. Their tacos are incredibly flavorful and hit the spot. I love the crispy pecascado. And of course I can't write a review without mentioning their elote which is amazing. The service coupled with the deliciousness and price is a no brainer. Huahua's is not a place to pass on. So do yourself a favor, if you are in the area, don't second guess it -- go in and order. You won't regret it.

I really love Huahua's!! I found out about this great place at an Elite event recently and had been craving it ever since. they are open super late on Fridays and Saturdays which is great as I am on the weirdest sleeping schedule. We went around 1:00 AM and there was plenty of parking and seating. Today I found out they are dog friendly which is AWESOME since I hate leaving my babies alone all the time, they had water bowls for dogs and treats at the cash register. This will be our new spot for late night dining. My favorite tacos are the carnitas and the fried chicken. I love them both equally. Their guacamole is the best I have had (outside of California). Their queso is yummy. and their margaritas are refreshing and tasty! Can't wait to go back!

Stuffed my face here the first night I was in Miami. Why? Because I was tipsy. Or drunk. I can't remember. What I did remember was that breakfast taco like it was the bomb-diggity! Hallelujah for being open so darn late!! The next night, my friends and I ended up at here again, this time we all learned the name of the restaurant. This time, I got the fish, fried chicken and, of course, the breakfast taco. All were solid but the breakfast taco remained my favorite. Although I remember there being scallions on it from the night before and the second time around, it didn't taste as good. Thanks, drunken taste buds... They also have interesting bottles of hot sauce by the soda fountain with some pretty funny names.

I hardly ever write Yelp reviews. I should probably do this more often to improve my cyber cred which is lacking these days. Anyway, I ate at Huahua's last night. In the truest-to-Miami form, I would say the following as my overall review: "Fire, bro." However, I felt obligated to write a more verbose review as a somewhat-educated, self-proclaimed funny human after eating at Huahua's. The food was so good that I would be willing to be thrown into a no holds barred cage match with 3 members of the Mexican Mafia a.k.a La Eme simultaneously for a single bite of my choice of item off their menu. Furthermore, the Mac n Queso is one of the most delicious sides this place has to offer. The chef could literally have bare-skin tea-bagged the bowl in front of me & I don't think that would have dissuaded me in the least bit. The guac is extra (meme reference), but delectable. You can taste the freshness with every bite. If you truly care about food & bang for your buck, do yourself a favor. Walk 40 extra steps from Rosa Mexicana & hit this place up. You can get a more than decent dinner for 2 with beers at Huahua's for the $40 you'd spend at Rosa on just the guac which is shit in my opinion (I make much better guac at home). The absolute only reasons I didn't throw Huahua's 5 stars are no ghost chili pepper hot sauce, no refried beans (whatup), I've had better Mexican food before, & you may get fucked on the seating if it's raining outside. Definitely hit this spot up doeeeee.

TACOS ARE TO DIE FOR! My boyfriend and I went during happy hour & took advantage of the $3 beers & the yelp special (FREE queso blanco & chips). We ordered 2 types of tacos (3 of each). The steak tacos have SOOOOO much flavor and the fish tacos were the best i've had. They were spicy, but then again, they have jalapeÃ±os. Make sure you order them without if you don't like spicy. It's a little pricey but the portions are BIG. Will def come back!! Can't wait to try their other tacos!

Huahuas is a great little place for fast, healthy, moderately priced Mexican food on the beach. The food is very fresh and I like that all their tacos can also be made as a salad. As someone who tries to at least pretend to be healthy I appreciate having that option. Last visit I had nachos. I have enjoyed all the food I have had there. The nachos are a huge dish and should probably be shared with four people. My favorite thing so far are the shrimp tacos. They are awesome. Everything else has been very good, too. There is no indoor seating at this restaurant. It can get a bit crowded and you may have to wait/fight for some of their sidewalk seating at peak hours. If you don't want to do that you can get your food to go and Sita at the fountains on Lincoln road mall or the small park on the bay a block west of the restaurant. The way to my heart is through my dog and the staff were so nice to her last visit! Not only did she get ice in her fancy water dish, but the girl at the counter came over and offered my dog biscuits from their stash behind the counter. Sweet gestures like that huge me the warm fuzzies and keep me going back.

I was looking forward to trying this little taco place on South Beach, but didn't have the experience I was hoping for... - Food: The food is unique and good, but significantly overpriced for what you receive. When ordering, keep in mind that this is not a typical Mexican place, meaning they've tried to "fancy" things up (mostly unnecessarily). Also, for those hungry people out there, an order of enchiladas only comes with one enchilada and no sides. Lastly, do not order a margarita as they do not have a liquor license and charge a ridiculous amount despite serving margaritas without real liquor. - Atmosphere: There is none. You sit on the sidewalk of Lincoln, west of Alton. - Service: Although I believe my experience was isolated, I do have to share... The person I was dining with ordered one of the enchiladas, and upon the server brining out the enchilada began eating. However, it turned out to be the wrong one. Then when the server brought the right one and we and she realized her mistake tried to have the manager come over and take the right order - not even the wrong one. The manager continued to make us fill uncomfortable as if we had some how schemed them to get an extra enchilada, even though in reality it was his server's fault. Just didn't make for the most pleasant experiences. Will I be back?: Most likely no

Came here with a girlfriend for lunch and even though I am not a huge fan of Mexican food, I loved the food. It's a modern restaurant with outdoor seating which is a huge plus for Lincoln Road. The prices are very reasonable and there are many options to choose from. They also have an extensive selection of hot sauces, which I feel are pretty much essential if you are going to have a Mexican restaurant. What I really liked about these choices though, is that they are all ranked by their "hotness". It allowed for me to grab a few quick ones in my range (4-5) and quickly get right down to business aka eating my delicious tacos. Usually, at Mexican restaurants I have to open almost every bottle and smell/taste to get an idea of how spicy it is. Thank the heavens that Huahua's pretty much did all that for me! Will definitely be back! Yum.

3.5 It's all about the fried chicken taco. Seriously. If you read nothing else in this review, come here, order a fried chicken taco, devour it, get another, leave happy. The batter/breading on the chicken tastes great on its own and the cabbage & ancho ranch complete the dish. You will become addicted to this taco. Unfortunately for me, not all the tacos I tried on my visit lived up to the bar set by the fried chicken. The Grilled Mahi taco with onion, radish, cilantro, cabbage, and chili-lime vinaigrette tasted fresh and, again, the cabbage provided a nice texture compliment to the fish. In comparison, the Fried Fish taco with papaya pico, cabbage and jalapeÃ±o tartar tasted bland (which is surprising for anything fried). In fact, I doubted whether or not I was eating the fried fish taco because there was so much crema in the taco... and the taco didn't come with it. I don't think the tartar could be confused with crema. Which led me to discover that my last taco, the Pollo al Pastor, with the charred pineapple, onion, cilantro, and lime crema was loaded with the creamy stuff. Mystery possibly solved: either the flavor profiles for the last two tacos are very similar or I wasn't given a fried fish taco at all. Rather I might have received two pollo al pastors and I didn't care for them. The crema was way too heavy-handed and overpowered everything else in the taco. But the more I thought about it, whether my order got screwed up or the tacos tasted similar (a bit scary for fish and chicken to taste alike), in any event, I wasn't thrilled with what I received. Going forward, I'd stick to the fried chicken and grilled mahi tacos. Both of those were executed well and had tastes that stuck with me well after my meal. Huahua's is open late on Fridays. I came there close to 1 am which might explain the taco mix-up... sorta... but not really. Stick with the fried chicken and all will be well.

The only thing you need to know going to Huahua's is to get the Fried Chicken Taco, it's that good. To make the taco even better, get some guacamole on the side and plop it onto the taco. The Cripsy Pescado Taco should be really good with the pineapples, but it just isn't. The fried fish looked like it was dipped in bread crumbs rather than the light, golden batter that a fried fish taco should be coated in. This messed with the texture and the taste of the taco. Aside from tacos, I tried the Elote, which was really burnt. I also had some of the Mac & Cheese, which was good but nothing extraordinary. If I went back again, I would get at least 2 Fried Chicken Tacos and then maybe another taco for variety and reviewing purposes.

Vegetarian tacos are rich and yummy with portobello mushrooms. Nachos are dripping in lovely cheese, black bean sauce, pico. ELOTE!!! Limey, fresh, gorgeous. "Good thing there was not too much guac because I would have snarfed it." Shrimp tacos spiced just right. Tender, succulent shrimp. Spiced aioli has just the right kick. Flour tortillas are default but you can get corn tortillas which I always recommend. Margaritas worth the brain freeze!

I am definitely a purist when it comes to Mexican cuisine, but my friend coerced me into trying this place. I came with an open mind and left pretty disappointed (and bloated). When I ordered they didn't ask whether or not I wanted corn or flour tortillas. So when I got the tacos they were on 3 lifeless bland flour tortillas. When given the option I always go with corn. I had the HONGOS MAGICOS, GUACO, and CHILI RUBBED SHRIMP. The proteins were fine, however, the tacos were all overpowered by creamy sauce or mayo. There was so much of it that I had to spoon some out of each taco. This wasn't the worst thing I've ever eaten, but I left unsatisfied. Someone in another review said to just go to Chipotle and save yourself the grief. I agree! I definitely won't be coming back to Huahuas.

Miami doesn't do Mexican. Not really. You want some flavor? Grab a pan cubano or some ceviche like a civilized person. So when someone does Mexican right--it's worth bragging about. Go and eat your weight in fried-chicken tacos (I was a skeptic) and heavenly beef maicitos. Finish up with a Mexican Popsicle and call it good. Enjoy the beach. I love how the tacos are reasonably priced at $3.25 ea.! So you can have 3, which make a reasonable meal, and you aren't $17 into a taco dinner... The pricing is really reasonable - and you can have 2 if you aren't as hungry... My favorite by far is the breakfast taco - served anytime of day - which has carnitas, a fried egg, and onions. It is the heartiest of their tacos, and my absolute favorite. I love this place! Also, the tequila palapa (popsicle) = amazing concept.

He even labeled all the bags and offered to car it out to my car! Service like that is hard to find in the Lincoln/Washington Miami beach area! Huahuas is definitely heating up Miami Beach. With saucy shirts bearing cartoon popsicles bearing the slogan "suck it," hot chefs, and even spicier food, this Mexican restaurant brings a a fun and new perspective to easy dinging options in the area. From the creative minds and whisks of Haven, Huahuas is a funky joint with a slightly more gourmet twist. My personal favorite is the fried chicken taco, which not only comes with its obvious namesake chicken served in strips, but also bits of jalapeno cornbread. Alternatively, the breakfast taco with cheesy eggs, tender carnitas, pork green chili, and hash browns is pretty hard to pass up. I also really appreciate that you are not limited to flour tortillas, since they also have corn on hand for those preferring something else. As for the nachos, be prepared, since this heaping mountain of crisp and light chips comes smothered with a combination of Queso Blanco & Cotija cheeses. It's a pretty substantial plate to tackle solo, but definitely offers a great value. If you're got a craving, I highly recommend adding the short ribs for a generous portion of seriously delectable meat. Another favorite is the elote, a grilled sweet corn with some spices and cotija cheese . It's fairly simple and yet incredibly satisfying. They've also got a hot sauce bar for those desiring to kick things up a notch. To minimize the heat factor I'd also recommend getting one of the refreshing frozen margaritas, or a jarrito alongside the meal, and be sure to save room for a homemade paletas, which come in an assortment of flavor. I'm dying to try the arroz con leche, which I've still yet to catch. Another plus, the service is always impeccable, and the food comes out fairly quickly which makes it an ideal stop before a movie, post Haven happy hour, or just because you want some tasty late night eats. Outdoor seating is great for people watching but there are some seats inside along with wall if the heat gets too unbearable. Hurry over before word gets out about this new beach find!

South Beach needed a place like this. Every neighborhood needs a place like this, especially in South Florida, where examples of quality Mexican food are spotty at best. Huahua's is the mastermind of HaVen's Todd Erickson - and if you ever went for Taco Tuesdays at that establishment, you'd know what I'm going to be writing about - solid, authentic Mexican flavor with the occasional nouveau twist (to wit: fried chicken taco). There'd been a lot of social media chatter about Huahua's, most centering around the paletas (fun Mexican popsicles) and elote (grilled corn with cheese). I tried both, and while they were equally excellent, the taste I'm going to crave comes from the Breakfast Taco. This is what I want to eat every single day. For a little over $3, you get a fairly large taco, stuffed to the gills with eggs, pork, and legitimate green chile. Add another taco (make it the fried chicken), and it's a fantastic, filling meal for well under $10. Frozen margaritas here are also pretty tasty, and are almost necessary, if you're sitting outside in the heat. On this point, be prepared - there's not a lot of seating here, it's a tiny place. Still, it looked like the tables were turning over pretty quickly - it's a "fast-casual" place, not a sit-and-linger. A winning formula that needs to expand to more Miami neighborhoods. How about the Gables, Grove and South Miami, for starters?

Love this place, but i only eat tacos here, i didn't try anything else. Love fish and fried avocado tacos, super fresh. Also love that hey sell fresh coconuts. Perfect little spot for a snack after movies on Lincoln rd. Actually; scrap the above; just found out that their tacos are not corn and that's very annoying, also if u see a line of people - not worth the wait, there is no place to seat and our food after 20min arrived cold. I wont go back in busy times ever again, just not worth the wait.

Good fish tacos are surprisingly hard to find in Miami. Huahua's gets it right. The fish is well-cooked, crispy on the outside, bright white on the inside, and well-complimented by the slaw and sauce. The order also came out VERY quickly, which is a bonus. I used the check-in deal on Yelp and got a free order of chips and queso, which were decent. We also got a side of guac, which was also just decent. They put entirely too much lime juice/flavoring on the chips and guac, which ruins it just a tad and brings the review down to 4 stars. But they're still enjoyable. There's a reason this spot was one of the few still poppin on Lincoln Rd at 1am.

Went in today for lunch and tried a few things on the menu. Queso dip- very good Guacamole- very good Elote corn with queso fresco- very good Corn chowder- to thick not a fan Tacos where ok- definitely over cooked my fish and shrimp They forgot the order so we waited and waited and waited more! Then they apogogized for it and brought out some guacamole and salsas. The tacos were good not running back to get them. One thing I do have to say everything was very good quality. Surprising for Miami ! Tables outside are not open yet they are waiting in permits so they served us outside Haven. I think this place will make it overall lots of food for two people for lunch $26.00.

I had a great lunch today thanks to HuaHuas! I'm just sad I didn't try it earlier this summer since it is close to where I live & work. Now that I know the deliciousness I will be back often. I had 3 tacos: the Guaco (grilled veggies, fried avocado, guacamole, spicy tofu crema), the Hongos Magicos (charred mushrooms, grilled veggies, spicy tofu crema) and the Grilled Mahi (cabbage, radish, cilantro, onion, chili-Iime vinaigrette). I also had a couple bites of my man's Crispy Pescado taco (fried fish, papaya pico, cabbage, jalapeÃ±o tartar). Everything was great. My stand out favorites were the Guaco (what could go wrong with fried Avo?!) and the Crispy Pescado (which had a nice kick to it). The ingredients were fresh and made to order and they also have a hot sauce bar with spice levels they have ranked from 1-21. We ended our meal with the pistachio paleta, which was refreshing and I liked that there were whole pistachios mixed in. (One minor issue with the Paleta though: the Popsicle stick was really short and kind of hard to hold....) The indoor space looks fun but is pretty small with only 4 bar stools by the window but there is plenty of outdoor seating. I can't wait to come here in the fall when the weather isn't quite as hot and enjoy some more tacos and $5 Mexican beers outside. I hope this place does well because it is just what the Alton end of Lincoln Rd needed. Cheap, Fast, Fresh, super yummy! Also we were informed that if you are looking for late night eats that they are open until 5AM (!!) on Fridays and Saturdays and Midnight during the week.

I have eaten at this place MANY times,..usually the overall attitude and customer service is pretty good... However, during my last (and I mean LAST) visit there I was treated pretty rudely by the person taking my order.... It seems that if you want to "drink water" with your meal (and my order was $12 for "3" TACOS ..you are given a "4 OZ cup... When I asked for a LARGE cup for WATER ..the "person" taking my order insisted on CHARGING me "$2.50" for a regular medium CUP.... SERIOUSLY????? And..the guy was such an arogant A**Hole about it ..I cancelled my order.. ONLY..to have my CC "tossed" BACK at me with the words..FINE.."see ya".. WTF...??? No WAY..I EVER go back.. And FYI..this is NO more "authentic" Mexican than Taco Bell. although..the food is decent.

Finally, good Mexican tacos in Miami. There's nothing like the the taco trucks in LA but this is pretty darn close. My boyfriend, his bro, his wife and I really enjoyed it and the boys went back up for seconds. Guacamole was tasty but seemed like they used bagged tortilla chips. My lover and I tried the Mahi tacos, carnitas, carne asada, fried chicken, fried pescado and the short rib taco. All pretty tasty! The carnitas were my fave! I loved that they put sliced radish on some and they also add a pickled jalapeno to others. Note: Ask for a side of the jalapeno and add to all tacos! They have lots of hot sauce to choose from. Yay so happy we tried this place and will be back to get our taco fix. Mostly outdoor seating so its great in the winter. They also serve beer and frozen Margaritas.

Where to start on the crap show of this place... First, the food took 30 minutes for one order to come out. My friend's never came out... Then, I asked for corn instead of flour shells since I'm gluten intolerant and the server tells me they'll make it right. Takes my tacos, brings back the wrong order and doesn't tell me which ones are oxen and which ones are flour. so I go inside upset, naturally, to fix this. The only one who is understanding and not giving me a bad attitude is the chef/cook who was clearly pissed at all the messed up food tickets. Took another 15 min to somewhat correct the mistake in the first place that could've been avoided by just bringing me corn shells! The manager Giovanni gives me his card and says anything he can do but I told him I'm visiting and won't be back and we walked miles for this. So all in all, I'm passed, let down and baffled at the disorganization and lack of management. Unbelievable and horrible experience. Don't come here unless you want confusion, disrespect and a long wait time for tacos when no one is ahead of you. Everyone but the chef should be fired and bring in properly trained hospitality and management people.

I'd give Hua Hua's 5 stars, but they changed the menu and took braised rib tacos off the menu. I hate it when new restaurants change their menus!

Delicious Mix of flavors! I was walking somewhere else when saw this place had opened, so took a peek insisde and liked the look of it and decided to stay. Ordered guac and chips to share, a Guaco taco and Pollo al pastor taco for me, and Grilled mahi Tacos for my date. A beer and a mandarin jarritos. Overall the food was tasty. I enjoyed the guaco taco (the fried avocado is delish!) but was not too crazy about the Pollo taco, the chicken was a little dry and so was the mahi of my friends taco. The guacamole was fresh and good. I would def try go again and try different things on their menu

THE. BEST. tacos in all of Miami Beach!!! Super fresh ingredients and creative delicious taco options. I eat here a minimum of 3 times per week - not easy to find healthy & interesting lunch options in South Beach. I don't eat meat and even I'm tempted to try the Fried Chicken taco! The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Love me some Hua Hua's! The food was pretty good but it is a bit pricey. The crispy pescado, fried chicken tacos and the short rib nachos where pretty tasty. My only complaint was at $3 and change the tacos where a bit on the small side but at least the ingredients where fresh. The marguerita was also tasty and pretty potent which was perfect for catching our movie afterwards since it's right by the Regal Movie theater on Lincoln Road.

Yaya for tacos!! I love a la carte style and so inexpensive for south beach. Even my corona was only 5$. Each taco had a different variety of toppings too. For lunch though, their portions are not big enough for me.. for most it is, but for lunch I want something that will fill me up to fuel me for the day and here I would have to eat at least 5 tacos. It was good, but not the best around. For Miami I still prefer Mercadito and their taqueria. In Ft Lauderdale its Alegria. We shared 4 tacos, chips and qeuso with chorizo and eyote (corn on the cob). We had the mahi, fried chicken, short rib and veggie tacos. All were tasty. The veggie was a little too moist. In my opinion the best was the fried chicken. The corn was very good and the queso was tasty but a litle watery. The chips are nothing special. Very little in door seating with about 10 outside tables. $24 for the food and one large soda (free refills). Overall a decent value.

I've eaten here several times with friends and we always share a few different dishes.They don't let you mix and match the set of 3 tacos, so if you want variety it's better to go with friends. Service here tonight tarnished my image of this place. I arrived at 1053 and they claimed they were closed at 11. The sad part is they were still filling orders for several customers and the clock clearly didn't show 11. The cashier asked me to speak with the manager who completely ignored me. Not an apology. Not an offer to make something quickly with whatever ingredients were still available. Nothing. He completely ignored my presence.

Lincoln Road has a ton of construction and this was the only thing that we could find that was open at 2am and I am very happy we came to eat here. The service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious. I ordered the nachos with chicken and guacamole and it was amazing. The queso they use to pour in the nachos is to die for and the guacamole was fresh and tasty. I also ordered a fish taco and it was equally as good. I topped it off with the home made Sanger del Diablo salsa to add a little kick. I would definitely come back to this place, even during the day.

We love this place, right Linda? It's great when you find a parking place right in front, but most of the time you have to park over by Epicure. The sauce station is a trip because you have to pump the shit out of a couple of 'em to get that little cup filled. I remember when they used to have bottles of hot sauce. I bet they kept disappearing. I know we snagged one. But the three tacos for $10 is such a deal. That's what I always order and it's always very good and filling. The corn on the cob is the bomb. They call it elote. Get a whole one because it's so good. This place is like fast food at reasonable prices. Once you get the hang of the drill, it makes a lot of sense. You order in a line and sit at your table and they bring the order. And then you eat that stuff like the plate is one fire.

Got recommended to come here by haven bar a few spots down. If you're looking for a late night taqueria, this is the joint to hit up. They have Mexican corn covered w/ butter, mayo, cotija cheese, and chili powder. Each bite was like heaven in my mouth. This corn reminded me of the corn sold on the streets back home on Cali. I may be a fancy gringo, but I am no hipster! Despite this fact I still love Huahua's! It's not your typical dirty, authentic Mexican place, but that's alright. It's South Beach! South Beach is crawling with fast, cheap, casual Mexican spots but I enjoy the step up that Huahua's gives you. Having tried both tacos and salads I'm pretty sure you can say I'm in love! Their jalapeno corn bread is like dessert but not, it's just delicious. Huahua's also has this thing going on for it that most other South Beach places don't -- service! Smiling faces, politeness, the whole nine. I'm going back for paletas, I just have to wait till the coconut one makes it's way back to the chalkboard.

Excellent new taqueria recently opened on Lincoln Road. Delicious tacos. salads, and full entrees as well. Their specialty is the fried chicken taco and it is delicious. They come in an order or 3 and you will definitely get full. Portion sizes are big. It's also possible to eat healthy here too. What a disappointment! Usually everything is a must try here, but tonight must be "idgaf" night for their employees. Ordered a queso blanco with chips only to discover the queso was completely watered down, I asked for another queso and was told that the entire pot is watered down and the quality of the food depends on the cook working in the kitchen. How ridiculous! Well now that I'm yelping my comment it all makes sense! Chips and queso are free when you check in with Yelp, so I guess management figured they should save money along with ingredients and serve their customers watered down queso! YUKKK! What a shame!

Stopped in here last night for some drunk food after Haven. The staff was super nice. We ordered 1 taco, chips and cheese, and nachos with guac. There was a mistake and we received nachos with chicken. So after sending them back we were told they ran out of chips. Since I really wanted nachos, I asked if they could use our other chips. So that worked and she brought me a veggie mushroom taco and free taco tokens for next time. I'm a fan. Oh and the nachos are delicious. They taste like real food and not processed cheese product. We will be back!

First time here, and I'm impressed, most of the food was very good, the service was great and dinner with a beer for two, tax and tip was just under $30. The guacamole was excellent, and for $7 you get a small vat of some awsoooommmmeee guac. Didn't like the chips though, too Chili's/On the Boarder thin and weak, if you eat a lot of Mexican you know the chips I'm talking about. The tacos I tried were very good, especially the chili rubbed shrimp and carnitas. I was not loving the grilled mahi or the pollo al pastor. My mistake however, as for some reason, fruit mixed with meat sounded like a good idea at the time, however no matter how much Miami cuisine tries to infuse my Mexican with sweet Caribbean/Florida fruit I remain, not yet a fan. Overall, good spot and I'm looking forward to future visits to try out the entire menu, should only take three or four trips. I like that once you know your favorites it's there for a quick stop over.

Amazing tacos with fresh ingredients with an eclectic twist. I got the crispy pescado taco, the fried chicken taco, and the breakfast taco and ate them in that order; the first taco set a high bar but I was pleasantly surprised to find that each taco was even better than the last. I absolutely LOVE Huahua's!!! Best tacos on the beach. Took my co-workers there and they fell in love. I've been to Huahua's several times and tried almost every single taco on the menu. My favorites are the fried chicken taco, crispy pescado taco and carnitas taco. I also LOVE the mac and cheese and the elote. But my favorite thing on the menu has been discontinued! I LOVED LOVED LOVED the enchiladas with the lemon cream sauce. Doesn't matter what kind of enchilada, they let you choose the filling and sauce, the lemon cream sauce is heaven! My sister raved about them so I had to try them and I have had one every time I've gone. BUT I heard from someone who went recently after I wouldn't shut up about the enchiladas only to see they were off the menu, which I just confirmed after checking their online menu. Why?? This makes me so sad! Please put it back on the menu!

This place is a great find. The Elote is sooo good... my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Great Guacamole & Chips... I mean you really can't go wrong with guac & chips, no wait, yes you can, but that's not a problem at Huahua's. Came here for lunch while on vacation after reading some really good Yelp reviews. The restaurant is nice but very small. Not much indoor seating AT ALL. Expect to sit outside where they have fans and several tables with umbrellas. They have good lime and strawberry frozen margaritas. We had the shrimp, fried chicken, mahi mahi, and carnitas tacos. Shrimp was very good, carnitas was a little disappointing as was the chicken. Mahi mahi was dry. Not much flavor in the chicken at all and the carnitas was just pretty good. Not great. I want to like this place more than I did unfortunately.

YUMMMMMMMMM! Wish I found out about Huahua's late hours and amazing tacos before submitting to ordering pizza yet again. Such a nice change of pace from all the of the usual pizza, salads and sandwiches of SouthBeach. The tacos are on-point! Love these tacos!!!: - pineapple chicken - grilled mahi - tilapia - fried chicken - portebella mushroom ((still can't say I have one favorite, since they all have such distinct flavors :D ) Must Try also: - frozen margarita (regular, mix-with passion) - grilled corn on the cob.... Amazing addition to this neighborhood - fresh ingredients, great price and fast, friendly service. Small inside but lots of outdoor tables, and open until midnight. Wish they would expand their menu a bit, but other than that really great place that will fill you up for around $10-$15, the lemon sauce is incredible btw!

I had guacamole and the shrimp taco & the fried chicken taco. Everything was really good except the guacamole had too much lime flavor for my liking. The tacos are not your average tacos but they were really good. The fried chicken was quite flavorful & the batter was delicious! I will go back.

If you are looking for a Mexican Restaurant, this is NOT the place for you. BUT, if you are looking for Fresh Mexican/Southern inspired flavors you've found the right place. My fave is the Fried Chicken Tacos (mmm the salad version of this is what I go for when I'm starving) or The Hongos Taco, when I am feeling vegetarian. Sides wise, I'm really loving the re-fried black beans and the Jalapeno corn bread is amazing (they are both spicy, so be prepared). I haven't tried the elotes but I hear they are great too. The only reason why I don't give them 5 stars is because its a little bit of a longer wait time than I would expect from a taqueria. But I feel that I should clarify that my expectations time wise is about 10 minutes or less, so I may be a little unrealistic for well crafted food, with fresh ingredients. But with that said, the staff is attentive and sweet, and I'd say the food is worth the wait!

OMG Is all I gotta say! These tacos remind me of Austin! How would I describe them... Pocket friendly gourmet! All the options are excellent! Crispy Pescado is the bomb.com and the breakfast taco is awesome for hangovers! They're open till 5 am on Friday n Saturdays so if I'm partying in South Beach this is where I'm heading afterwards! 100% recommended just for the fact that its different from everything else in Miami Beach! Try it out, trust me you will NOT regret it! =)

Huahua's is probably not the first place one would think of when thinking of a healthy eatery...Mexican equals chips and salsa and margaritas! However, when I'm not eating my weekly cheat meal from here (chips, the new delicious salsa, and beyond delicious queso), I am ordering a taco salad (without the shell), because it's one of the best on the beach. The salads are large, filled with a kale/romaine lettuce blend (all hand cut the day of), a homemade bean pico, radishes, and a cilantro-lime vinaigrette, which is also made in house. (Hopefully they start to bottle the dressing and sell it because it's that good.) The hours of this place are great, and they recently just started delivery service. I give this place two thumbs up, not only for the food, but because the workers are so nice and friendly. They remember who you are, and are extremely hard working. The manager is also around, doing table touches, cleaning up after guests, and helping in the kitchen. He leads by example, and that's the one reason why this business is so successful. They are opening their second location in Aventura from what I've heard, and I know it'll be a success. Thanks for great food! Ole!

I love Huahua's ! Finally a regular and affordable reason to risk your life crossing Alton Rd. while walking west on Lincoln, Huahua's is a gift from the Taco Gods! Everything here is just amazing. The Elote corn is the bomb, grilled with cheese and a spice sprinkled across the length... just perfect. My favorite is the chicken enchiladas with lemon sauce. I was super skeptical when recommended this by the nice girl working there, but after trying it, its not my go to order. The chili rubbed shrimp is my favorite taco, but I've also never had anything here that I didn't absolutely love! Awesome hot sauce bar. Super cool that they have a big cell phone charging station for use.

Love the Guaco Taco, but was very disappointed in service and accommodation for food allergies... Came with my bf who is gluten free and he got the Guaco Salad and even though they were out of the taco bowl for the salad they still charged us Fifty cents per tiny corn tortilla. We could have bought an entire bag of tortillas for the price we paid for 3 tortillas!! Likely won't return.

The only reason I do not give them 5 stars is due to the guacamole. Too much slat and too sour. With that being said, you must have the Breakfast taco. It has to be one of the best tacos I have ever tasted. I was also looking forward to the fried chicken taco, but they ran out of fried chicken last night.. Huahua's fried chicken taco literally was the best taco I've ever had. The texture is almost like a tempura, with a really southern, almost cajun flavor. The radishes and corn bread in this dish also make it a winner. I'm also in love with their hot sauce bar (they have like, 25 of them), as well as their elote. Super nice staff. Amazing.

Hipster Garbage First time I went to Huahuas it was a revelation. I had a delicious short rib enchilada with real Mexican cheese and topped with an amazing beef filled red sauce. Next time I went the enchilada was served in a wheat tortilla instead of the traditional corn. When I asked the workers what was up they shrugged and said people complained that corn tortillas (the traditional and ONLY appropriate tortilla for an enchilada) were weird. An exceptional enchilada suddenly became flawed, perhaps fatally. Well, at least there was still that yummy red sauce. So the next time I went my girlfriend orders the enchilada (I'm not eating a wheat enchilada so I moved on to tacos) and I notice that not only is it wheat, but its topped with a meatless, flavorless looking red sauce. The girlfriend asks what was up, and the person behind the counter shrugs and says too many "Vegetarians" were complaining. It only took a month for Hauhuas to go from the best Mexican place on the beach to Taco Bell except quadruple the prices. They still get two stars because although the enchiladas are completely inedible, they do have a couple tacos that are all right. Don't under any circumstances get the jalapeÃ±o cornbread. There is more oil in that thing than a Pizza Hut pan pizza. It's literally soggy. The guacamole is bland and tasteless. Miami is still in search of a quality Mexican joint. Huahuas fit the bill for about a week, but fell apart fast. You might as well save your cash and go to the equally flawed Taco Rico, or better yet, save your Mexican cravings for when you venture off the beach and get some REAL Mexican tacos from Con Sabor a MÃ©xico Carnitas Estilo MichoacÃ¡n.

If you want tacos that are a bit kore creative than the norm, this is the place. The crispy pescado and fried chicken tacos are quite tasty. My two gripes are the corn tortillas don't hold up very well and often fall apart halfway through eating. Also not a fan of the salsa. The flavor is okay just seems like more of a Rojo sauce than a salsa made of fresh vegetables.

This place falls flat on its face. The elote was literally dipped in a mix of mayonnaise and cheap cotija cheese. Inedible. Next comes the tacos where one bite of each sufficed. It was an awkward mix of flavors with nothing distinguishable in the taco. I couldn't tell the difference between carnitas and chicken. Not to mention they use a mini flour tortilla. Really, a mini flour tortilla?

I went here again last week before my bowling league and it was open - so we are already off to a great start (although I knew it would be because of the note I got after my last review). I got the elote (corn) and a couple of fish tacos. I thought everything I had was solid. The corn was delicious and the fish tacos were great as well. I think this place is a welcome addition to south beach and I will definitely see myself returning many times to enjoy the tacos. I could have used a toothpick after the corn and there wasn't one to be found.

Tried it a couple of times to be fair. The Chicken Nachos are not very good. They use some kind of white liquid cheese that reminds me of Velveeta! They charge a dollar for each salsa you want which is like McDonald's charging for ketchup. Was really hopeful of this place but I guess I'll have to walk another 6 blocks to Lime from now on.

I'm giving this place an extra star because the staff is really nice and fast, but that's it. The tacos themselves are not bad, but somehow they are flavorless, the chicken and the fish were completely dry. How do you fix this? with salsas! But here comes the problem. How can this place call itself "Taqueria"?. Not to be mean, but how can you run a taco place without salsas? There is a saying in Mexico 'A taco without salsa is not a taco' and Huahua's fails greatly in this aspect. Hot sauce bar will never replace the traditional tomato, cilantro, onion and lime sauce. Not even the non-authentic or tex-mex places miss this, what is wrong here?. You are not even able to buy a sauce as a side. And secondly, Mexican cuisine?, not because you use typical ingredients found in mexican cuisine makes the dish mexican, you have to use them correctly. I know the idea of the chef is to introduce us the different flavors by using different ingredients, but then I guess he picked the wrong concept. My error: came here expecting mexican food. PD: The chips are tasteless as well.

This place is pretty darn good. I've eaten here twice and so far I've had the following: Queso dip is good, on the thin side. The fish tacos both crispy and grilled. I love the fish tacos but think there should be a little more fish, kind of skimpy on the meat. The shortrib enchilada with red sauce is my favorite thing. The rib meat is tender and the red sauce is very spicy. It's a pretty big enchilada but $7.50 is a little pricey. I always walk out of here with a $15 tab and I'm only drinking iced tea. It's definitely a treat and not a daily thing. If the prices were a little cheaper I'd eat here more often.

This place is nice... The staff is super nice and very friendly. I visited because I saw it on Ch 7 news and it looked appetizing. I parked quickly and was the first in line. I got the elote, pollo al pastor and crispy fish taco. The elote was different, I liked it. The pollo taco wasn't really to my taste. I'm not saying its bad it just wasn't for me. The fish was good too but I didn't like all the slaw. Yet and still the staff alone would make me stop by for a margarita. Next time I'll try different things and specify.

All I have to say is FRIED CHICKEN TACO! It will change your life! But be careful....you WILL get addicted and will begin to crave it daily! It's seriously that amazing. But just once I did make myself get something besides the fried chix taco so I tried the Braised short rib enchilada with lemon cream sauce...FAB-U-LOUS!!!!! I could eat them all day every day if I wouldn't end up being a million pounds. Keep on keeping on Chef Todd! Your food is as fabulous as you :) If thats even possible!

This place does not have a whole lot of competition here on the beach. The shrimp taco and short rib taco are extremely good. The mahi, no big deal. You can have any taco set up as a salad but I found the ingredients to be a bit skimpy. I'd pay a couple of dollars more to get more protein. I'm still a fan. The service is VERY friendly.

I was really impressed. Have been here a few times for lunch, and the dishes continue to amaze me. Although the menu is simple, it is very tasty. South Beach needed a good, simple taco place and this is it. Who needs a salsa bar when you have over 30 crazy hot sauces to choose from?! The fried chicken taco and the breakfast taco are by far my favorites, while my boyfriend loves the fried pescado and short rib taco. There is something for everyone (even the dogs!), including the addicting chips and queso. There is also a cool phone charging station where you can hook up your phone or iPad while you eat. It's also nice that they are open till 5am on Friday and Saturday.

"change your heart, it will astound you" says the song and this is exactly what happened to me after coming back to huahuas and receiving a private message from them about my review. his message was polite and straight forward. its a clear sign he acknowledged the issues i raised which is - in my opinion - what yelp is all about. i went back because huahuas is near my office and i wanted to give them another try. after having tried most of their tacos, i must say that they are tasty. i also got to try the nachos, which are huge and well charged and the grilled corn. if i had to choose from one of their tacos i would go for the crispy fish one. the vegetarian tacos are very good although a bit close to each other on flavor profile, could be the sauces. but i cant say im not a fan of this place, i go back too often not to admit i like eating there. i have not tried the paletas yet, but soon... soon.

These tacos are off the hook, and the Texan in me thanks the guys responsible for this little taco haven in South Beach. I hate to admit that I ate this much but here goes.... Breakfast taco: filling and crazy good, oozing with pork green chili and egg yolk, the avocado taco, deep fried avocado, yeah I said it, and yeah, they make it! I also had the ridic short rib taco and a grilled corn on a stick. Also, a big thanks to the girls in front that wouldn't let me leave without a paleta, sooo good. My gf and I went to HT after reading so many great things about it. Yes it is hip, and it appears everything is fresh, and parking is even easy to find on an early Friday night. Unfortunately, our Mexican Cokes were warm and our food was cold. The two gentleman sitting next to us had warm beer as well. We tried the Pollo al Pastor taco salad which was ok but a bit salty and cold. We also had 3 tacos (grilled Mahi, chili rubbed shrimp, and carnitas) that were also cold. Maybe we should not have had the carnitas because the oil from them saturated the other two and ruined the meal. We also shared the Queso-Mac. Well, we started to...it was too cold and stuck together. We took a bite of each dish and decided to leave. The bus boy asked us what was wrong as we got up and apologized but did not rectify the situation. It was only a $30 meal so I was not going to say anything, but he should have told the manager. Or better yet, even the owners who just happen to own Haven a couple of doors down. If you are going for this type of food hit up Lime Fresh on Alton just a few blocks south or even make the trek to 14th between Washington and Collins where T-Mex is. They both are more fresh and HT could learn a few things from them!
